Sock It to Shell-Head!

We enter what promises to be a difficult work week (= light blog content week, by the way) with a cathartic shot of the Hulk literally knocking Iron-Man's block off. Coool. Obviously, that's just a shell, but the real Stark won't be sleeping well, I'm sure.

I also like this groovy Avengers Classic cover by Art Adams. I don't think I need another reprint of Avengers #1 when I have an actual copy of #1, the Marvel Masterworks, and several other reprints, but I can pretty up my blog with the cover.

How to tell that's a Marvel book (well, other than the presence of Hulk and Iron Man, which is, I admit, a bit of a giveaway): if it had been DC, you'd have seen all the blood and snapped spinal column as Tony Stark's head came off, not just his helmet.

Wonder when they decided to retcon the Sentry into the "classic" stories...

Awesome! That's the way Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots is supposed to be played!

The Adams piece is very, very pretty. Is it seeing anybody?

Steve: Don't worry, if Marvel realises gore=$$$, you'll see Doctor Doom ripping out spines so fast it'll make your head spin.

Lurker: I don't think his series ever said he was an Avenger, so he may just be representing the New Avengers here - like Wolvie.

Vaklam: I'll bet Marvel has liscensed some sort of rock-em sock-em knock-off by now. Probably Spider-Man vs Venom or somesuch, though.
