Crackdown at Scans Daily?

This is odd. Look over at Scans Daily for a moment. Once I reassure it that I am over 14 a few times, I see a solid Wall of "You are about to view content that may not be appropriate for minors." That's new. It also seems like the first three pages are strictly Marvel and DC stuff, with a few other relatively harmless posts throughout. That may be because a bunch of new comics just came out, though.I skimmed over the first five archived pages, and this Lara Croft comic is about the spiciest thing I saw. This sampling from The Crime Bible is the only item I see tagged "nsfw" in the first few pages, and that's a DC Comic. That NSFW tag still does lead to some pretty hair raising stuff, so I dunno. It might not for long. Something ill is brewing, for sure.

It's a result of the new Lifejournal content flagging system. Every user of LJ can flag every post as not suitable for minors, containing hate speech, illegal activities among others.

There are trolls in them there dungeons and they have a new tool.

Won't take long until the comm is gone, since they can flag whole journals and the publication of scans is kind of illegal. LJ won't stnd for this.

S_D should be able to weather this latest bit of LJ idiocy. If it were going to go down for infringement reasons, one of the many people who have been banned over the years probably would have managed it by now...

It doesn't look like anyone is clearing out the X-rated stuff, after all. I've seen some pretty bizarre stuff over there, so I guess I keep expecting the whole operation to be shut down at any time. Like when little Caleb in Georgia gets on the internet and stumbles onto an untold erotic adventure of Batman and Robin.

If you check out S_D while logged into an LJ account it's fine. Weird, though.

It's happening all over LJ, it's a new flagging system they've just introduced. When one is logged in with an account that states an age over 18 it usually doesn't happen.

I'm not worried about S_D feeling the wrath for content, anytime soon. But the new arbitrary limit on tags, on the other hand, is causing real problems...
