I enjoyed reading this version - you may or may not be aware that Poe's story is based on an actual event in 14th century France called the bal de ardents. There's an excellent account and a period illustration of it in Barbara Tuchman's book, A Distant Mirror.
Always one of my favorites from Creepy/Eerie. Love that Reed Crandall, I can't believe I remembered his name.
