to be honest obama has already put into power a multitude of power brokers and neo-liberal MNCs executives with ties to Monsanto and other life science, oil, and health insurance corporations. not to mention his two top foreign policy advisers Brzezinski and Paul Volcker who has done more damage to africa then any man alive. both have played major roles in the post-colonization world of globalization and food control.

I'm kinda annoyed that the economic crisis gets blamed on the Skrulls; shifting blame off of Bush and onto Tony Stark is unnecessary; Tony's got a bad enough rap already, and in Marvel, Bush has not gotten a bad enough one.

Personally, I LOVE that Marvel has the actual president; that's always pleased me as one of the defining differences between Marvel and DC. I have no problem with DC using non-real political figures, but I am just plain amused by Marvel's attempts to interact with the real world. The Colbert tie-ins are a nice example.

Agreed -- Marvel was probably expecting McCain to win. Dark Reign is totally square peg for the current politcal and social atmosphere. Maybe they'll cut Dark Reign short. That would be nice.

Thanks very much for posting this. Secret Invasion was such an abortion already... the implication that Obama appointed Osborn added harsh insult to greivous injury. Nice to see that Marvel's going back on that. I personally would rather not have to slog through Dark Reign at all, but oh well. (That "Starkgate" term really stings!) In any event, seeing Osborn face hostility from the new administration is great, and genuinely makes the situation more interesting. So, again, thanks for calling attention to this!
