In one of the series (I don't r...</title><content type='html'>Just more to add.  In one of the series (I don't remember which), the "Days of Future Past" Wolverine is saved at the very last instant moment of death and is transported to the Earth X universe.  The two alternate Wolverines meet where the "Days of Futures Past" tells Lazy Wolverine that he was not a mutant at all.  Basically all humans were "mutants" and wolverine was really the last of the original (non-mutated) human, which in its natural state can live a long time and heal itself.  The story leading up to this is very convoluted and I don't have the time to get into it.
